Deep Silver and 4A Games have announced a free next-generation update for «Metro 2033 Redux» and «Metro: Last Light Redux».
The update will introduce improved textures, lighting, shadows, animations and environmental detail, alongside a number of technical fixes and quality-of-life improvements. On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the games will also receive native support for modern console hardware, with enhanced resolution and performance.

The announcement comes as the «Metro» video game franchise reaches another milestone, with more than 50 million copies sold worldwide.
The update will be released on PC on 22 October and on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 29 October. It will be available free of charge to existing owners of the «Metro Redux» games.

Dmitry Glukhovsky commented:
“I’m excited to return to «Metro 2033» and «Metro: Last Light» and try the updated versions on console. It has been many years since these stories first became games, and I’m looking forward to experiencing them again on a new generation of hardware.”
